Yachad, an introduction.

We are very glad to become an agency member of the LCJE. In this article we like to introduce ourselves. Yachad is an organization of the Free Reformed Churches in theNetherlands. We have about 20 members, spread over 4 committees.

Our committee “Israel” has contacts with some Christian congregations inIsrael, for example the Kol ba Midbar Congregation of rev. Anthony Simon. Every year, we try to make a working visit toIsraelto support our contacts and to make new contacts.On the other hand, we have also a Committee “Netherlands”. That committee has contacts with for example CWI (Christian Witness toIsrael) and a lot of other Christian organizations in theNetherlandswhich are in some way connected toIsraeland the Jews.

The intention of Yachad is to raise awareness among the members of our congregations in the following things:

-the importance of the Jewish People in the eyes of God

-that it is God’s intention to save the Jewish People.  For that, he wanted to use us, believers in Jesus Messiah.

As the apostle Paul says in Roman 9 – 11:  “You Gentiles are like branches of a wild olive tree that were made to be part of a cultivated  olive tree. You have taken the place of some branches that were cut away from it. And because of this, you enjoy the blessings that come from being part of that cultivated tree. But don't think you are better than the branches that were cut away. Just remember that you are not supporting the roots of that tree. Its roots are supporting you”

And further: “So it is much more likely that God will join the natural branches back to the cultivated olive tree”.

You can see this also in the logo of Yachad. Yachad means “together” in Hebrew.

Jews and Christians together. The Jewish People cannot be replaced by the church or the Christians, meaning the Christians being the new people of God, but both, Jews and Christians are connected. The People of Israel are our eldest brother.

The roots of the church are in the Jewish People.

Therefore, our mission is:

-To share the witness of Jesus Messiah with the Jewish People by supporting the preaching of the gospel, to win followers to Christ.

 -Recognition of the special place of the Jewish People in the history of salvation by God.

From the beginning, God went His way withIsrael. Jesus was a Jew, born inBethlehem.

On each of the gates of the New Jerusalem is written the name of one of the twelve tribes ofIsrael.

 -Concerning the relation between the Christian Church and the Jewish People:

The newtestamentic People of God includes both Jewish and not-Jewish believers. Both groups are descendants of Abraham, by blood or by faith. So, there is a relationship between the Christian Church and the Jewish People by Father Abraham.

Jews who believe in Jesus Messiah should have a place of honour in the Christian Church.

The other descendants of Abraham unfortunately didn’t find the Way in the person of Jesus Christ himself. We hope God will use us to bring them back to the right path and to find their Messiah.
